Full service kitchen design and remodeling

Scottsdale Ranch- Transitional, a remodel by Good Guys.

Location: Scottsdale

Style: Transitional

Our Scottsdale Ranch project was a whole home remodel. We touched the kitchen, dining room, guest bathroom, master bathroom, laundry area, and the house flooring.

For the kitchen, we kept the same layout, but updated the perfectly kept time capsule from the 90s. We increased the height of the cabinets that offered more storage and fixed the scale of the space. Our clients went with a white beaded shaker cabinet with a glaze for a more transitional feel. For the countertops, they chose a quartz with a goldish brown veining to highlight the gold and brown accents in the floor, hardware, and plumbing fixtures. With the backsplash, our client wanted something that would make for a fun pop of color and chose a beautiful navy blue hex mosaic.

Next to the kitchen, we added some new decorative tile floor under the washer and dryer and put the same style cabinets above for a proper built in laundry area. It now feels exciting to show off this area rather than hide it behind closed doors.

In the dining room, we removed some of the walls that enclosed the space and opened the area. It is now more spacious with a view of the jewel toned kitchen and living room. We also demoed the clunky fireplace hearth and finished it with a mantle that compliments the guest and master cabinets. By adding tile around the fireplace, this now is an inviting space to cozy up to. In the guest bedroom, we removed the closet to create a tv nook so that this room can be used for more entertainment purposes.

In the master bathroom, we took out the jacuzzi with the tub surround, straightened out the cabinetry and enlarged the shower to fit a bench seat. We also installed a freestanding tub. Our clients wanted this master to feel warm, and classic. We chose an alder cabinet with a glazing to bring in warmth and used the same countertops for a continued flow throughout the house. They chose a marble looking porcelain tile for the floors and walls, while going with a real marble mosaic for the shower floors and niche as accents. To pair with the gold warmth, our clients went with gold plumbing fixtures. All of the same finishes that were put in the master were used in the guest bath. The major change for the guest was taking out a tub and creating a shower.

Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed working with our clients on this project and we are so thrilled that we were able to achieve their dream home.
