Winter Sun - Transitional, a remodel by Good Guys.

Location: Scottsdale
Style: Transitional

Our clients were tired of their homes existing style: Tuscan Old World. Dark colors, warm tones, heavy furniture, and it was time for an update. They wanted to change all these dark colors to the popular white and grey. By remodeling the kitchen, master bathroom, and powder bathroom to the white and grey colors, it really made each space feel larger and brighter.

In the kitchen, we removed all existing cabinetry and kept all the travertine flooring throughout the entire home. For the perimeter, they selected white painted cabinetry with glass uppers on their now much taller wall cabinets. For the island, we did custom painted grey cabinets with a 3" thick countertop and more clean lines for the transitional style. The countertops are a marble looking quartz with larger linear veining, and a handcrafted grey backsplash tile laid in a herringbone pattern. We designed a drywall hood to add some texture and make it a major focal point. For appliances we have a 36" gas drop in range, a double oven with a warming drawer and a large refrigerator.

For the master bathroom, we updated all the vanity cabinetry to make them feel more custom and like furniture pieces with legs, inset cabinetry, talls that sit on the counter and a nice sit down area for makeup. Working with the existing travertine flooring and shower tile, we removed the old drop in tub that was taking up a majority of the bathroom for a freestanding tub, opening up the space and making a statement.

To update the powder room, our clients found a fun geometric patterned wallpaper, floating vanity and fun mirror which brightened up the space and made it feel much bigger that its previous dark colors.

It's amazing to see how updating the colors and style of a home can transform the spaces, making it more open, brighter and better functioning for our clients.
