Aging-in-Place Remodeling in Scottsdale, AZ
Create a home that feels safer, easier to use, and beautifully designed for the way you want to live now and in the years ahead.

Aging-in-Place Remodeling That Feels Beautiful, Not Clinical
Aging-in-place remodeling in Scottsdale should feel like thoughtful design, not a medical modification. The goal is to make your home more comfortable, easier to navigate, and better suited to long-term living while preserving the elevated look and feel you love.
Kitchens by Good Guys helps homeowners plan accessibility updates that feel intentional from the start. Our design-build team can help you create a home that supports your lifestyle with craftsmanship, care, and refined design.
Make Your Home More Comfortable for Everyday Living
Aging-in-place and accessibility remodeling is about making daily routines feel easier without sacrificing style. The right updates can help your home feel safer, more intuitive, and more comfortable for you, your family, and your guests.
Common goals include:
- Safer bathrooms
- Easier shower access
- Better lighting and visibility
- Fewer trip hazards
- Improved circulation through key spaces
- More accessible storage
- Main-floor living improvements
- Easier access to everyday features
- Long-term comfort and confidence
Why Plan for Long-Term Livability Now?
Accessibility updates are often most successful when they are planned as part of a larger remodel, rather than added later as one-off fixes.
The goal of universal design remodeling is to create Scottsdale spaces that work beautifully for a range of needs over time. Planning ahead allows your remodel to support comfort, safety, and long-term livability while still feeling elegant and personal.
More Confidence at Home
Create spaces that feel easier to use, move through, and enjoy every day.
A More Coherent Design
Build accessibility into the remodel from the beginning so it feels intentional, not added on later.
Smarter Project Planning
Coordinate layout, plumbing, lighting, flooring, cabinetry, and finish selections before construction begins.
Aging-in-Place Updates Throughout the Home
A more accessible home starts with the spaces you use every day, from flooring transitions and lighting to storage, kitchen function, and main-floor circulation.
Flooring Transitions
Reduce height changes between rooms to create smoother movement and fewer trip concerns.
Doorways & Hallways
Improve clearances where possible so key areas of the home feel easier to move through.
Kitchen Access
Plan appliance placement, cabinet storage, lighting, and work zones for easier everyday use.
Main Floor Living
Improve the spaces used most often, including kitchens, living areas, laundry rooms, and primary suites.
Storage Access
Use pull-outs, drawers, custom cabinetry, and better organization to make everyday items easier to reach.
Lighting & Controls
Add layered lighting, dimmers, smart controls, and thoughtful switch placement to make the home easier to navigate.
Accessible Bathroom Remodeling in Scottsdale With a Luxury Feel
Bathrooms are among the most important spaces to plan for long-term comfort, and the right updates can make the space safer without making it feel clinical.
Shower Seating
A built-in bench adds comfort, stability, and convenience without detracting from the space's luxurious feel. With the right proportions and tile design, it can feel like a natural part of a spa-inspired shower.
Curbless & Zero-Entry Showers
A curbless or zero-entry shower in Scottsdale creates easier access while giving the bathroom a clean, open look. We plan the slope, drainage, waterproofing, tile, glass, and fixture placement so the shower feels both practical and beautifully finished.
Grab-Bar Planning
We can plan blocking and placement early so grab bars coordinate with your plumbing fixtures, tile layout, and overall bathroom design.
Handheld Shower Fixtures
Handheld shower fixtures make the shower more flexible and comfortable to use. They pair especially well with bench seating, accessible controls, and thoughtful shower layouts.
Lighting & Visibility
Layered lighting, LED mirrors, and well-placed task lighting can make daily routines easier while keeping the bathroom warm and refined. The goal is better visibility without harsh, clinical lighting.
Slip-Resistant Flooring
The right flooring can support safer movement while still feeling high-end. We help select durable, beautiful surfaces that complement the bathroom design and reduce slipping concerns.

What Our Clients Say About Kitchens by Good Guys
"This company is absolutely amazing! The designers, Dean, and the entire crew are professional and all around great to work with. Our kitchen and two bathrooms were completely remodeled and not only did the results look amazing but it was done 4 weeks early…yes early! The whole process went so smooth. The app they use was really helpful for seeing the calendar, making payments, and sending messages. The crew worked so hard everyday and kept the area clean when they left. I would recommend Kitchen By Good Guys to everyone you wants to do a remodel, they are the best!"

"We needed our master bathroom remodeled and contacted a few companies that said they were too busy or just never called back. Had a few other quotes too but Good Guys came through with what we really wanted and very easy to work with. One stop shop. Amber - Design Team came out and took the time to listen to our thoughts and gave her ideas too. We went to the showroom and she had the design displayed on a screen in 3-D. She also had samples of tile, cabinets, granite etc. already laid out when we arrived. We went with her suggestions. Good Guys worked within our budget as well. We received a breakdown of the costs and they use a website called BuilderTrend that keeps you up-to-date on what they were going to do each day. Project Manager came every day to make sure everything was going as planned. Communication was great - if we had a question or concerned, we received an answer within 24 hours. Good Guys finished the project in less time than the original end date as well. Would definitely recommend."

"Kitchens by Good Guys does excellent work!!! We gutted our kitchen and took out a wall. Good Guys didn’t shy away from the project, in fact they knocked it out of the park!! We love, love, love our new kitchen. From start to finish, all staff we worked with were professional, knowledgeable, creative and a pleasure to work with. Good guys provided a timeline for the project, from purchasing/building of the cabinets to the final inspection approval. They were realistic in their timeline and were done when they said they would be. We were not in the house for the project but Good Guys use a platform where they upload photos of the progress of the project. We appreciated this extra step. I cannot say enough about this team. You will not regret hiring Good Guys!!"

"We chose Kitchens By Good Guys to remodel our AZ home. This included the kitchen, master and guest bathrooms, re-pipe plumbing, new flooring, and new paint throughout the home. We couldn't be more pleased with our choice. I can't say enough about their fantastic team! Emily and Simone helped us make design choices for the house and were extremely easy to work with. They went out of their way to find what we were looking for! As far as the remodel itself, we were out of town while it was taking place. Still, everything went better than we could have imagined. Things were done according to a set schedule and the guys took pictures of everything so we could give our input if necessary. The guys were always extremely polite and accommodating. We are so pleased with the quality of work done by Dan and his crew. We highly recommend Kitchens By Good Guys!."

"We had waited for years to remodel our kitchen and when it was finally time to begin the process, we were unsure where to start. Kitchens by Good Guys was our first stop, and I knew they would be our last. However, we wanted to do our diligence and spoke with several other contractors. None held a candle to the professionalism, knowledge, quality cabinetry, kindness, amazing ideas and confidence that we experienced with Simone & Emily.
Always prepared, one step ahead and so much fun to work with, this project was a dream because of them! Smooth, on time, good surprises and the end result is fabulous and more than we could have ever wished for. We wouldn't change a thing about our kitchen! Dan, the Project Manager is not only amazing at what he does, but a true joy to work with as are his crew. From start to finish, the transparency, communication and setting expectations of the Good Guys team was spot on."
Kristy K.
"The process went smoothly and was totally stress free. Everyone in the team, from the design headed by Simone, through the demolishing and rebuild headed by Dan, were wonderful to work with. They came on time and did what they promised to accomplish that day. Dean, the owner checked on the progress several times and came at the end to make sure all was done to my satisfaction. I am thinking of redoing my kitchen next year, and will definitely use Kitchens by Good Guys again."
Ron K.
"After having nightmare experiences with other contractors Good Guys was a breath of fresh air. They listened to what I wanted and after the very first visit gave me a design that was almost exactly what I had envisioned. They also had great suggestions for things I had not considered. They communicated with me every step of the way, even providing pictures and updates via their app while I was traveling. They were very respectful of me and my space and it was the cleanest construction project I have ever lived through. Of course there were a few challenges and changes along the way but they handled them professionally and I never felt like they were trying to increase the scope to increase the budget. I will not hesitate to use them on my next project!"
